Mobil 1 ™ Test Results in Taxi Engines

During the tests, samples of used oil were taken every 5,000 km and the following indicators were analyzed: kinematic viscosity values at 40 and 100 ° С; fuel content, soot; the content of wear metals and additive elements; oxidation and nitration index; alkaline and acid numbers.

Sampling took place at the Mobil 1 Center, an express oil change service station, and was sent to a laboratory (Rotterdam, Netherlands) through Signum Oil Analysis. It enables users from anywhere in the world at any time to receive the necessary information regarding the analysis of lubricants.

The analysis of more than 100 samples confirmed that Mobil 1 oils, the leader among synthetic motor oils *, do not undergo significant chemical and thermal destruction throughout the entire oil change interval of 15 thousand km. **

To determine the cleanliness inside the engine, the valve cover was opened several times. Each time the details looked like new. After a run of more than 100 thousand km, the condition of all visible parts of the engine on all machines was rated at 0.5 points on the GOST scale (0 - new parts that were not subjected to operation, 10 - engine completely clogged with sludge).

After 150,000 km, ExxonMobil also had a full analysis of the Mercedes-Benz engine to make sure that there are no deposits on the rest of the engine either.

A complete analysis again showed the exceptional cleanliness of the engine - the valve cover, camshafts, crankcase, crankshaft, pistons. Assessment of engine cleanliness on the GOST scale also gave a result of 0.5 points.

* Claims made based on estimates of global demand for synthetic lubricants based on a 2014 Kline & Company study.

** Be sure to follow the recommended oil change intervals specified in the operating instructions for your vehicle in accordance with the engine loads.
